PHC Ventures Honoured as Strategic Partner of the Year by Life Sciences BC 

We’re proud to share that Providence Health Care Ventures has been named Strategic Partner of the Year at the 27th Annual Life Sciences BC Awards—a prestigious recognition that celebrates leadership and innovation across British Columbia’s life sciences sector. 

Presented by Life Sciences BC (LSBC), a not-for-profit association dedicated to advancing BC’s life sciences ecosystem, these annual awards spotlight individuals and organizations that are making significant contributions to health innovation and economic growth in the province. 

PHC Ventures was recognized for its novel approach to supporting innovation and commercialization within a health care setting—an approach that is helping to shape the future of health care delivery and research in BC. 

“It’s such an honor to be recognized with this award,” said Brian Simmers, President of PHC Ventures. “We’ve spent the last six years building something new—a way for a health organization, Providence Health Care, to directly support commercialization and innovation. As with anything new, there are lots of times that you aren’t sure you are on the right path but you stick to your vision and keep moving forward. So, for our team, this award is a recognition that the work we’re doing is starting to matter — not just to Providence Health Care, but to BC’s broader innovation economy.” 

The award will be formally presented at the LSBC Awards Gala on October 2, 2025, at the Vancouver Convention Centre West, where leaders from across the province’s life sciences community will gather to celebrate this year’s honourees.
