navigating the canadian health care landscape

The Canadian health care, regulatory, and technology landscapes are complex, but at PHC Ventures, we navigate these with precision and expertise. We act as conductors, ensuring harmony; as fixers, smoothing out the path; and as matchmakers, forging partnerships that bring visions to life. With access to PHC clinicians and a network of technology and data specialists, we offer a partnership that extends beyond simply innovation—we are eager to lead the charge in transforming Canadian health care.

Over the past five years, PHC Ventures has led and contributed to 11 significant projects, including the notable Intelligent Network for Point-of-Care Ultrasound (IN PoCUS) initiative, among others. These projects have not only improved our systems but also supported the development and commercialization of products for companies like Care Team, Thrive Health, and Clarius.  Building on these achievements, PHC Ventures was established in 2018 to enable PHC to innovate in new and different ways than a traditional public health organization can.

As a founding member of what was initially known as the Digital Supercluster—now simply referred to as "DIGITAL"—PHC Ventures has been able to join forces with like-minded industry partners across various networks and sectors.

Together, we have advanced ideas, adopted new technologies—such as telehealth, virtual health, and wearables— and implemented innovative approaches to improve care for people throughout BC and beyond.

PHC Ventures is an element of Innovarium, Providence’s innovation engine which accelerates change through improvements, advancements and new ways of doing things. This unified structure enables Providence to bring innovative discoveries to the health care system faster by coordinating efforts and providing resources for ongoing improvements and advancements.
