Vancouver, BC<\/em> - Genome British Columbia (Genome BC) a annonc\u00e9 un financement de $1M pour soutenir quatre projets uniques visant \u00e0 permettre aux d\u00e9couvertes de r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 des besoins cliniques non satisfaits en mati\u00e8re de soins de sant\u00e9 par le biais de son programme d'acc\u00e8s, d'int\u00e9gration et d'analyse des donn\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce financement profitera au syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 de la Colombie-Britannique en permettant aux chercheurs d'analyser les donn\u00e9es g\u00e9nomiques en conjonction avec les donn\u00e9es cliniques de sant\u00e9 et d'imagerie. La combinaison de ces sources de donn\u00e9es peut d\u00e9boucher sur de nouvelles d\u00e9couvertes et am\u00e9liorer les soins aux patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le projet est men\u00e9 en partenariat avec PHC Ventures, une filiale qui joue le r\u00f4le de moteur d'entreprise et de commercialisation pour Providence Health Care (PHC). L'un des \u00e9l\u00e9ments cl\u00e9s des projets financ\u00e9s dans le cadre de ce programme est l'acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l'\u00e9quipe d'experts de PHC Ventures. Laboratoire de donn\u00e9es sur l'informatique de sant\u00e9 int\u00e9gr\u00e9e<\/a> (IHID) - une nouvelle plateforme de donn\u00e9es d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e par Providence Health Care et PHC Ventures, con\u00e7ue pour faire avancer plus rapidement la recherche et acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer le d\u00e9veloppement de solutions innovantes en mati\u00e8re de sant\u00e9. La plateforme recueille, d\u00e9personnalise, relie, analyse et partage des donn\u00e9es de sant\u00e9 provenant de nombreuses sources dans un environnement de laboratoire de donn\u00e9es personnalis\u00e9, s\u00e9curis\u00e9 et bas\u00e9 sur l'informatique en nuage. Toutes les utilisations sont conformes aux normes internationales les plus strictes en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9, de protection de la vie priv\u00e9e et d'\u00e9thique. Une partie du financement de Genome BC couvrira les co\u00fbts de l'IHID pour l'utilisation de la plateforme et les opportunit\u00e9s de formation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les quatre projets financ\u00e9s sont les suivants<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drs Chris Ryerson et Tillie-Louise Hackett<\/strong>, Les chercheurs de l'Universit\u00e9 de la Colombie-Britannique (UBC) et de PHC \u00e9tudieront comment les g\u00e8nes d'un individu et son exposition environnementale \u00e0 la pollution atmosph\u00e9rique peuvent conduire au d\u00e9veloppement d'une maladie pulmonaire interstitielle, un probl\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 grave qui entra\u00eene des cicatrices dans les poumons, des difficult\u00e9s respiratoires et une dur\u00e9e de vie gravement r\u00e9duite..<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Drs Liam Brunham et Simon Pimstone<\/strong>, UBC et PHC, \u00e9valueront le r\u00f4le de la g\u00e9n\u00e9tique dans l'\u00e9valuation des risques et l'orientation du traitement des maladies cardiaques. Plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment, ils examineront si les tests g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques et le d\u00e9pistage au moyen d'outils d'imagerie clinique peuvent aider \u00e0 trouver, parmi les parents au premier degr\u00e9 de patients souffrant d'une cardiopathie pr\u00e9coce, des personnes qui pr\u00e9sentent \u00e9galement un risque \u00e9lev\u00e9 de cardiopathie et qui pourraient b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier d'un traitement pr\u00e9ventif.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Drs Scott Tebbutt et Raymond Ng<\/strong>, Les chercheurs de l'UBC, du PHC and Prevention of Organ Failure (PROOF) Centre, s'appuieront sur un test sanguin qu'ils ont mis au point pour surveiller les biomarqueurs permettant de d\u00e9tecter l'absence de rejet aigu chez les patients ayant subi une transplantation cardiaque. Ils cherchent maintenant \u00e0 relier les donn\u00e9es de l'IHID aux donn\u00e9es des biomarqueurs avec les r\u00e9sultats \u00e0 court et \u00e0 long terme des patients afin de d\u00e9velopper de nouveaux tests de biomarqueurs qui pourraient mieux pr\u00e9dire les mauvais r\u00e9sultats pour la sant\u00e9 des patients ayant subi une transplantation cardiaque.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Drs Zachary Laksman et Jonathon Leipsic<\/strong>, UBC et PHC, mettent au point un test sanguin permettant d'identifier les personnes pr\u00e9sentant un risque d'insuffisance cardiaque et de suivre l'\u00e9volution de la cardiomyopathie hypertrophique, une forme courante de maladie cardiaque qui touche une personne sur 200.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Tout comme les donn\u00e9es sont essentielles \u00e0 la prise de d\u00e9cisions efficaces dans les domaines des technologies de l'information, de la finance et de la fabrication, le fait de rendre les donn\u00e9es disponibles d'une mani\u00e8re s\u00fbre, \u00e9thique, s\u00e9curis\u00e9e et respectueuse de la vie priv\u00e9e peut am\u00e9liorer les performances et la qualit\u00e9 des soins de sant\u00e9. Les donn\u00e9es de sant\u00e9 des patients d\u00e9personnalis\u00e9s peuvent \u00eatre analys\u00e9es de mani\u00e8re coh\u00e9rente afin de d\u00e9velopper de nouveaux outils de pronostic, de diagnostic et autres, qui peuvent \u00eatre int\u00e9gr\u00e9s dans les soins et fournir une meilleure exp\u00e9rience et des r\u00e9sultats sup\u00e9rieurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
